Doug Baran

Doug Baran (born 14 October 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman.
He was member of the Tulsa Oilers (CHL) team that suspended operations on February 16, 1984, playing only road games for final six weeks of 1983–84 season. Despite this adversity, the team went on to win the league's championship.〔(The Tulsa Oilers Were True Road Warriors )〕
==Playing career==
Prior to turning pro, Baran played four seasons (1979–1982) of major junior ice hockey in the QMJHL.
He played the 1982–83 season in the IHL with the Peoria Prancers, and then played with the Tulsa Oilers in the CHL for the 1982–83 and 1983–84 seasons, where he won the Adams Cup. He spent his final season playing professional hockey in Europe with HC Alleghe.〔
